This is an anonymous log for a class on social confidence. It has thus far been so much fun I want to keep doing it when the class ends. Patsy is the name of my oldest rat, though he is male! We just didn’t know that when we named him. I started raising fancy rats last year. I am making it one of my goals to help people to see fancy rats as the gentle, sociable pets they are. Also I am an artist, love to read, watch movies.
Hello ratpatsy! I have had a little exposure to rats. My brother is the type of person that does everything to extreme. He got into raising rats for a time which in turn rubbed off on my kids. He had hairless rats. Do you have any of those? They are pretty scary looking let me tell you. But really they are harmless not like the rats we think of climbing around under the house. Well its nice to meet you and look forward to the rest of the semester.

Hi jetta1! I don’t care for hairless rats myself. There are a couple of ratteries in Idaho that raise them, so I’ve seen them online. I’m glad to hear that you are aware of the difference between pet (fancy) rats and wild rats. I wouldn’t touch a wild rat. They could be dangerous. But fancy rats are bred for disposition and health. I enjoyed talking to you. I hope you have a great semester too.

Before I go though, I really like that “About ratpatsy” feature on your blogg.

Hi Wickersham, you are one of many! I appreciate your honesty. I am creeped out by cockroaches and earwigs. That’s about it. I used to bring home earthworms and frogs and play with caterpillars as a kid. I think my mother was concerned about me! Just for her, I had a picture taken with an 8 foot boa constrictor wrapped around me. She wouldn’t even touch the picture. I do feel like cats need to have fur! Thank you for liking my blog feature.
